How it works
What happens, from choosing to meeting
Four steps take you from reading a profile to sitting down for your session. Each one is set out below, along with what a session is, what it costs and what happens if your plans change.

A session
What a session is — and isn't
A session is
50 minutes
A fixed start and a fixed end, so you can plan the rest of your day around it.
One psychologist
The person you chose, whose credentials Formind has checked.
A private video call on Google Meet
Sessions aren't recorded by Formind, and psychologists agree not to record them.
At a fixed time you chose
Times are shown in IST. You can move it for free until 24 hours before.
A session isn't
A chat with an AI
You talk with a person, live, at the time you booked.
A prescription service
Psychologists don't prescribe medication. If medication might help, your psychologist can suggest seeing a psychiatrist.
Pricing
What a session costs
Each psychologist sets their own fee, and you see it on their profile before you sign in. Sessions are [₹1,500–₹3,500] for 50 minutes.
The range is taken from psychologists' current fees.

What people ask before booking. Each answer links to the page with the detail.
Privacy
Will anyone know I'm seeing a psychologist?
Only the people you tell. Reminders come by email and in the app, with titles that don't say what the session is. Your mobile number is used to sign you in and is never shared with psychologists. On a bank or card statement the payment appears as [statement descriptor], and your receipt reads “Online consultation — 50 min”. What you say in a session stays between you and your psychologist. How confidentiality works
Is what I say confidential, and what are the exceptions?
Yes. What you say stays between you and your psychologist. The narrow exceptions are a serious risk to your life or someone else's, or a court order; your psychologist explains this in your first session.
Do I need my camera on?
No. Keep it off, or turn it on part-way through. Many people start with audio only.
Sessions
My problem feels small; is it worth a session?
Yes. You don't need a crisis or a diagnosis to talk to a psychologist. A first session is a way to find out whether it helps.
What happens in a first session?
Your psychologist asks what brings you here and explains how confidentiality works, including its limits. Say as much or as little as you like; by the end you'll both know whether to continue.
Can I have sessions in Hindi, Malayalam or Tamil?
Yes, with psychologists who speak them. Use the Language filter, or check the Speaks line on each profile.
Can I change my psychologist?
Yes, any time. Book with someone else; nobody will ask why.
What if I need to cancel or move a session?
Cancel or reschedule free until 24 hours before the start. After that, the fee isn't refunded.
Who's who, and safety
What's the difference between a psychologist, a psychiatrist and a counsellor in India?
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication. A clinical psychologist is RCI registered; a counselling psychologist holds a master's in psychology. Psychologists on Formind don't prescribe.
Is Formind for emergencies?
No. Formind is for scheduled sessions. If you need help right now, call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, 24×7) or 112 for emergency services.
